Kefotax New:
KEFOTEX (Cefotaxime
Sodium for injection):
The
ideal antibiotic for pre or post-operative care,
Kefotex is composed of third generation Cephalosporin.
Composition:
Each
vial contains sterile
Cefotaxime Sodium equivalent to Cefotaxime. Vials
of volumes 1 g, 500 mg and 250 mg are available.
Mechanism
of Action:
Kefotex
is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin group and has a
bactericidal effect. Improved
antibacterial activity is due to high stability
towards beta-lactamase. Cefotaxime
restrains the synthesis of the bacteria cell wall and
thus affects the bacteria in its division. Its
antibacterial activity against gram-negative rod
shaped bacteria is many times stronger than that of
known cephalosporin and penicillins and in most
pathogens the bactericidal concentration is slightly
higher than its minimum inhibitory concentration.
Indications:
Kefotex
Injection is indicated in
the management of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
and Nosocomial
Infection (Hospital Acquired Infection)
Dosage
And Administration:
Kefotex
solution should be administered as soon as it has been
prepared. The solution should not be stored at
temperatures exceeding 25°C
and not stored for over 24 hours.
